Meet The Staff

Travis Clements, Jr. - Travis was born and raised in West Durham, son of Travis Clements and Louise Clements who was one of the original owners of the funeral home.  Travis graduated from Durham High School in 1968, attended Methodist College, and then received his funeral service license from Gupton Jones Mortuary College in Atlanta GA., making him a second generation funeral director. He has been married to Linda Veasey Clements for 36 years and they have two children, Kelly Clements Misenhiemer, and Blake Clements.  Travis has been a Volunteer with Lebanon Fire Department for 32 years and a private pilot since 1977.  Travis and Linda enjoy spending time on their farm with Freckles their Border Collie and their Black Angus Cows.  Travis and Linda are members of Greystone Baptist Church.

Ed Clements, Jr. - Ed is a lifelong resident of Durham.  He is the son of the late Ed Clements, Sr., who was also one of the original owners of Clements Funeral Home and past president of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association, and Kathleen Andrews Clements.  Ed graduated from Northern High School in 1970 and Louisburg College in 1972.  He is a veteran of the United States Navy.  He served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) from May 1973 until being Honorably Discharged in December 1977.  Ed is a proud member and former President of the Northern Durham Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow.  He also served a two years term as Assistant District Governor.  Ed is a second generation licensed funeral director.  He is married to Robin Tilley Clements and they have three children, Alison Whitaker and husband, Rodney Whitaker, Erin Clements, and Edwin “Tripp” Clements III, and two grandchildren, Taylor and Maddie.  Ed and Robin are members of Bragtown Baptist Church.

Phil Young - Phil born and reared in Durham, son of Leo and Gerry Young.  Graduate of Northern High School class of 1974 and Fayetteville Technical Community College class of 1976 where he earned his Funeral Service License.  Phil has been an employee/owner of Clements Funeral Service for the past 35 years.  He has been married to Karla Ray Young for 30 years and they have one daughter, Chelsey.  Phil and Karla are active members of McMannen UMC.  Those who know Phil, know of his passion for his family, funeral service, and salt water fishing.

Kelly Clements Misenhiemer - Kelly was born and reared in Durham and graduated from Northern High School in 1995.  After graduating from Appalachian State University in 1999, Kelly continued to earn her associates degree in Funeral Service from Fayetteville Technical Community College.  Kelly is a member of Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties, The Durham Jaycees, past President of the Cremation Association of North Carolina and Grey Stone Baptist Church.  Kelly is married to Bryan Misenheimer.

Edwin “Tripp” Clements III - Tripp was born and raised in Durham and graduated from Riverside High School in 2002.  He then attended East Carolina before getting his Funeral Service License from Fayetteville Technical Community College in 2006.  He is a third generation funeral director.  In the summer he coaches the Clements Diggers softball team and also plays Dart Ball for Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.  He is also an avid Duke Fan. Tripp attends Journey Baptist Church.

Blake Clements - Blake was born and raised in Durham and graduated from Riverside High School in 2002.  He then attended The University of North Carolina at Pembroke before getting his Funeral Service License at Fayetteville Technical Community College in 2006.  Blake attends Greystone Baptist Church.  Blake spends much of his spare time outdoors, fishing, four wheeling and riding his Harley.  Blake is a third generation funeral director.

Joseph Hughes - Joseph was born and raised in Durham the son of Connie Hughes. Joseph graduated from Riverside High School and then attended Fayetteville Technical Community College.  Joseph is married to Jennifer Sanders Hughes and they are members of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.

 

Bo Bryan - Bo was born and raised in Miami Fl.  He came to work at the funeral home after working 34 years in newspaper advertising management, most recently with the Durham Herald Sun.  Bo is married to Lynne Chatfield and they have three children.  Bo and his wife are members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
